Town of Searsport Maine
The town of Searsport, Maine celebrated two auspicious occasions with a one ounce fine silver custom coin. Not only was it Maines's 200th anniversary, but it was Searsport's 150th anniversary. They chose to each anniversary on two sides of a custom colorized coin. One side shows Maine's crest and the other has a highly detailed sailing ship. The ship pays homage to Searsport's sailing history. This small city has the second largest deep water port and its claim to fame is building ships in the 19th century that sailed the world. The fine silver coins were sold to raise money for the community and local museum. They are sure to be treasured keepsakes.
