Transylvania University custom coin
Transylvania University in Lexington, KY welcomes the incoming freshman class with a tradition dating back almost a decade of giving each new student a custom coin with the university seal on one side and a memorable quote on the other. Each coin over the years has had the same back, so it's used year after year. What changes is the front, depending on the book the freshman will read before starting classes. It's a way for strangers to start a conversation and find commonality. The coins are small, so they can be carried in a pocket or wallet and serve as a quote reminder.
