Pat O'Brien's Free Hurricane

In the 1940s, most US distilleries were pushed towards manufacturing necessities for the wartime effort, leaving supplies scarce. Pat O’Briens started to experiment with the one liquor they could get easily and affordably: rum. They started to experiment with rum and passionfruit, which created their signature cocktail, The Hurricane. From there, they found that just one free Hurricane could bring people in and get them to stay!
